Our wines

Have you ever stood in front of the Dolomites and experienced its striking contrasts? These mountains in the northern Italian Alps contain power and beauty, liveliness and tranquility, danger and grace. It is here at the foothills of the Dolomites in all their grandeur, where we produce our wines: Terra Alpina.

Pinot Grigio

2018 Pinot Grigio

Brilliant straw yellow with a green shimmer

Aroma

Pronounced and expressive aroma with flowery and somewhat spicy notes

Flavour

Fresh and lively, with a slight smokiness at the back

Food

Starters (both fish or meat), pâtés and terrines, fish and shellfish, poultry, white meat and mushrooms

Selected vineyards in the Dolomiti area

Soil

Limestone and porphyry

Vinification

Fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by maturation on the fine lees for four months

Best to be drunk

When properly cellared, this wine may be kept for at least 2 - 4 years

2018 Pinot Bianco

Color

Brilliant straw yellow colour with a green tint

Aroma

Very fine, fruity (apples, peaches), forward varietal aroma

Flavour

Precise, elegant, grapey flavour, light to medium- bodied, with a fresh finish

Food

As an aperitif, with starters, salads, asparagus, all kind of seafood and pasta dishes

Origin

Selected vineyards in the Dolomiti area

Soil

Limestone and porphyry

Vinification

Fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by maturation on the fine lees for three months

Best to be drunk

When properly cellared, this wine may be kept for at least 1 - 2 years

Pinot Bianco

Alois Lageder is working together with wine-growing partners from the Dolomiti area to create fresh and lively wines that reflect their unique origin – the Dolomites. The landscape is at once Alpine and Mediterranean, cool and sunny, composed of impressive mountains and little lakes, rugged rock edges and green hills. Whatever its terrain, this landscape is breathtaking, captivating, and majestic.

Wine growing

Together with our partners we work in a way that responds to nature with great care, curiosity, and respect. Our goal is to encourage these partners to completely convert to organic farming. We aim to be cultivating every Terra Alpina vineyard organically or biodynamically in the next few years.

Cellar

Some of the grapes are vinified directly at the Alois Lageder winery. The rest is vinified on our partners’ sites in close communication with the winery. Regardless of the location all our fruit is handled with great care and as naturally as possible.
